A tooth!
Last night, I felt Caitlin's first tooth poking through! It's her bottom front right and seems to have just surfaced past the gums. She also had her first Deep Dish pizza! Ok, not really, but she gnawed on some crust so we could eat! In the past week, she has had peas, carrots and apples. Ashley even jumped right in yesterday and fed her, she did surprisingly well!

Caitlin's First food!
Caitlin has been sitting in her highchair with us at dinner for the last month. She's been practicing using a sippy cup and a spoon. Today, I let her try peas. We skipped over the "cereals" since they have zero nutritional value and really caused havoc on Ashley's digestion so I didn't want to chance that again.
How did it go? Better than expected, but she clearly didn't like it. I think she even swallowed some! We'll try again tomorrow!

Another first!
Yesterday, Caitlin started sitting herself up from laying on her belly. She's still a little wobbly, but great at catching herself with her hands.

She's on the Move!
Over the past month or more, Caitlin has been spinning in circles to get where she wants to go. Over the last couple weeks, she has gone from the "army crawl" to "revving" up to crawl on her hands and knees and now she is all over crawling in a variety of ways..on her hands and knees (very slow), army crawling and a move like an inch worm. She an easily get across the family room (in fact, I'm watching her do it as I write this and heading right for Ashley's legos!) She is obsessed with playing with the vent and crawls over there often. Ashley is being a good big sister and is keeping an eye on her and helps us with when she gets somewhere she shouldn't be! I think Ashley is in for a wide awakening since Caitlin is already starting to get into her stuff!

A first we could have lived without
One first I didn't want to see at an early age, is Caitlin catching her first cold. She handled it quite well, even when it turned into bronchitis! She probably handled it the best of any of us since we all passed the yucky cold around the house. She definitely did not like her cherry flavored antibiotics. I don't blame her, I think I am scarred from cherry medicine I had to take as a kid! Fortunately, it was short lived and it didn't stop her from days full of playing! I think it may have been a secret plot to plan how to crawl!

Caitlin's 6 Month Check Up
Caitlin had her 6 month check up today. I had to wake her for her 11 am appointment after being asleep for almost 14 hours! She is 15 pounds, 8 ounces and 26.5 inches. She is in the 33rd percentile for weight (on a very full belly) and 50th percentile for height. So right on track with her previous stats.
She did great with her shots and Ashley was there trying to calm her down. She still is toothless, but teething is in full effect. She is becoming very close to crawling. In the last week or so, she has learned to get on to her hands and knees and bobs back and forth. It's just a matter of time before she's all over the house! Time to really start baby proofing!

Caitlin's 4 month check up
Caitlin had her 4 month appointment today. She is 13 pounds 5 ounces and 25 inches which puts her in the 25th percentile for weight and 66th percentile for height. So she's starting to follow the same pattern as Ashley. She was less than thrilled with the shots, I don't blame her!
Caitlin is sleeping less during the day and is playing lots in her exersaucer and playmat - though she mainly loves to roll over and over and over! She has also discovered her toes and grabs at them any time she can! She has even started to giggle, which is super cute, but often causes the hiccups!
Ashley love to entertain her and can always cheer up Caitlin. She love to give her kisses and tells me that she love her or that Caitlin loves her.
We have a road trip ahead of us this weekend as we break in the minivan with a trip to Maryland with the whole crew! Wish us luck!
